Kerry: “I Am A Hunter” | Query: Really?

Kerry has made a virtual mantra out of announcing, when he is in the presence of rural audiences, that “I am a hunter.”

Maybe he is. Still, I wish some enterprising reporter (there still are some, arent’ there?) would ask him to name the date and place of his last two or three hunting outings where there were no photographers in tow, i.e., that were not campaign events for photo ops.

Perhaps that is were Senator Kerry was when he wasn’t attending Intelligence Committee meetings.

    No bag limit on weasels

John Kerry wants you to know that he is a hunter. Someone ought to ask him stuff like this at a campaign stop:What is the fee for a hunting license…

Hunting licenses are often public record. What a shame that no enterprising reporter or political operative checks them out to see if he has one, or has for the last few years.

Now with the gun ban lifted,at least he can hunt with an AK-47 with the 40 shot clips or a streetsweeper shotgun.

Judging by his supposed ‘hunting’ behavior as captured in photos and in Kerry’s own words, I suspect he’d need to use an AK-47 in order to hit anything.

The Hunter, by Booker T. Jones (best known as the second part of “How Many More Times”, by Led Zeppelin)

They call me the hunter, that’s my name

A pretty woman like you, is my only game

I bought me a love gun, just the other day

And I aim to aim it your way

Ain’t no use to hide, ain’t no use to run

‘Cause I’ve got you in the sights of my love gun

The first time I saw you, standing on the street

I says to myself, “Woo, ain’t she sweet”

I’ve got my love gun loaded, with hugs and kisses

And when I pull the trigger, there will be no misses

Ain’t no need to hide, ain’t no use to run

‘Cause I’ve got you in the sights of my love gun

Ain’t no use to hide, ain’t no use to run

‘Cause I’ve got you in the sights of my love gun

I’m the big bad hunter baby

How can I miss when I’ve got dead aim

I suppose you would call this recent goose/duck hunting event a “photo-op”, but how is this any different than what Dick Cheney and SC Justice Antonin Scalia did last year? Weren’t all three men in question “hunting?”

Cobra – The difference is that Cheney goes fishing and hunting when he’s not in a campaign and when the press isn’t interested. I’m still waiting for some indication that Kerry does. So far the only evidence is his own “I am a hunter…” insistence. Does he have hunting licenses? If so, from where, issued when? Can he provide details of one or two hunting trips in a non-campaign season, without reporters?
