I encourage you to take a look at my short piece on “Another Breakthrough In Feminist Mathematics” that appeared today on Minding The Campus.

Roger Clegg wrote to ask whether my daughter, Jessie the physicist, had helped with it. I replied: ” Alas, no, or it would have been better. But I’ll send it to her and see what she says. You may remember an old post that quoted her response to a typically inane quote from someone about women being driven away from science because it wasn’t “welcoming”:

Bogue warned against “negative role models” who give the impression that they are overly obsessed with their work and drive people away by making the field seem too demanding.

Because of course we wouldn’t want anyone giving an honest impression of the field…
