Old readers of Discriminations (as well as any readers who are not so old) will be aware that I have never posted a tip jar or asked for any contribution … and, don’t worry, I’m not about to start now. But I am going to ask you to make a contribution, which can be very small, to another worthy cause.
Over the years Minding The Campus has published a great deal of my writing (in fact, an essay is there now). That alone, of course, makes it a worthy institution, but that is hardly its primary accomplishment. In any event, it depends heavily on foundation support, and now one of its main funders needs to see evidence that it is also supported by others.
What MTC needs is not so much your money (though I’m sure that would be welcome) but evidence of additional supporters, evidence provided even by very small contributions. It appears that the number of those contributions is actually more important than the amount raised.
Thus I encourage you to pay a visit to its donation site and provide at least a token of your support.
