Democratic Humor

I know, I know. A book about Democratic humor would probably be even shorter than a history of Italian naval victories, but The Hill did have a particularly funny example yesterday. After recounting in excruciating detail how “Fears of wounding Obama weigh heavily on Democrats ahead of vote,” The Hill quotes the noted comedian, Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D, Left Field) — consensus selection as “the worst boss in Congress” — blaming Republicans for playing politics.

“There is a constant wounding [of Obama] going on with the Tea Party on budgets, appropriations and the debt ceiling,” said Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas). “I am going to reach out to my colleagues, Tea Party or not, and ask is this really the way you want to project the political process?”

Jackson Lee said using Syria to score political points would be “frolicking and frivolity” by the Tea Party.

Jackson Lee is good for nothing if not a laugh.
