When I got home tonight I was greeted by emails from several concerned readers (it’s reassuring to know there are some) asking whether my domain name had really expired, as they were told when they tried to access DISCRIMINATIONS.
No, it hasn’t, but there was an interval of several hours today, which I still don’t understand, when the Internet Gods thought it had expired, which of course is the same as being Internet dead.
Anyway, as Twain said, the rumors of DISCRIMINATION’S death were greatly exaggerated. (Well, he didn’t say that exactly.)

According HostingMatters, my host, the computer did it:
Sometimes the billing system does not autorenew domain names as it should, that’s the entirety of the issue. The domain was renewed yesterday and should have been resolving a few minutes thereafter.
Well, not quite. The “entirety” also includes several hours of no access, alarm in some quarters (mine), and ensuing confusion.
