Judge [X]’s opinions and legal briefs threaten to undo the advances made by women, minorities, dissenters, and other disadvantaged groups.
Who is Judge X? Luttig? Wilkinson? McConnell? Janice Rogers Brown? No, he was Judge Souter, and Ms. Aron’s comment is from 1990. As Taylor drily observes, “Souter soon proved to be one of the most liberal justices.”
