Still More On AA Victims: UPDATE

Thanks to Roger Clegg, I have just added a long UPDATE to this post on victims of affirmative action (which I may start calling “negative action”).

    Roger Clegg has three types of statistics here. Although I have seen more than enough evidence that AA means quite deep discrimination in practice, none of these three statistics clearly tells me this.

    Type 1 Statistic: “At Michigan State in 1999, the average black admittee had a science grade-point average that was 0.7 lower than his white counterpart’s”.

    This statistic is consistent with Blacks and Whites having exactly the same grade average cutoff. It is possible that Blacks just cluster closer to the cutoff than Whites.

    Type 2 Statistic: “[I]f you had a total MCAT of 40 and a science GPA of 3.75, your probability of admission was 67 percent if you were Hispanic
