Claremont Fake Hate Indictment

Remember Kerri Dunn, the Claremont McKenna psychology professor who vandalized her own car and claimed it was a hate crime? (If not, go here.)

Well, it turns out that crime doesn’t pay: Prof. Dunn has just been indicted for one misdemeanor count of filing a false police report and two felony counts of insurance fraud.

If convicted, Dunn could face probation to up to three years in state prison, prosecutors said.

In a statement, Dist. Atty. Steve Cooley said: “False accusations that imply hate crimes prey on the legitimate concerns of the public who truly abhor violence based on race, ethnicity or sexual orientation. And those who make false claims should realize there is a penalty for doing so.”

Did she plead guilty? A lot of people are saying Dunn was railroaded. Certainly a lot of people are refusing to believe in her guilt. Is she academia’s answer to Tawana Brawley? If so, who is her Al Sharpton?

“Her lawyer, Gary S. Lincenberg, also declined to be interviewed. But he issued a news release saying that Dunn “maintains her innocence and hopes that this case will not divert attention from the racism problems on the Claremont College campuses.” ”

It will not. She does not realize she is part of the problem.

Can’t you all see the greater situation? Racism, sexism and anti-Semitism must be RUBBED OUT!! That’s all she was trying to do. Have a little compassion. (End sarcasm.)
