Unintended (But Predictable) Consequences

Racial preferences are intended to bring together people who are regarded as “different.” Michigan, however, has found it necessary to create a program to break down the barriers caused in part by … racial preferences.

Michigan Community Scholars tries to break down some of the barriers on a campus that many students say is increasingly polarized by debate over the university’s race-conscious admissions policies.

As a kid I remember thinking that what in fact were radio transmission towers were built so that a light could be put on the top of them so that planes wouldn’t fiy into them. This reminds me of that.
