Quotas Die Hard (If They Die)

In 1998 Cincinnati’s system of race-based contracting was declared illegal, nine years after the Supreme Court had declared such contracting illegal in City of Richmond v. Croson. Now, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer, the vice mayor and others on the city council are pushing for “an ‘aggressive’ race-based policy for city contractors, despite a report from city lawyers saying such measures may be unconstitutional.”

The Democractic Mayor and former Congressman, Charlie Luken, supports these efforts. “We should not be discouraged from doing the right thing,” he said, “because we might be overturned.”

Sort of reminds you of massive resistance.

Say What?
