On Court Nominee, Hillary Channels Obama II

Regarding President Obama’s nomination of Judge Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court, Hillary Clinton today issued a statement channeling Obama II.

In arguing that the confirmation of a president’s nominee “should not be an exercise in political brinkmanship and partisan posturing,” Mrs. Clinton was repeating almost verbatim what Obama II said in 2009 after his nomination of the “wise Latina,” Sonia Sotomayor — that we should avoid “the political posturing and ideological brinksmanship” that has afflicted past nominations.

I’m attributing that statement to “Obama II,” because Obama I, when still a Senator, had himself engaged in that “political posturing and ideological brinksmanship” by attempting, through supporting a filibuster, to prevent the Senate from considering President Bush’s nomination of Judge Samuel Alito.

I wonder if these folks will remember this when President Trump nominates James Woods on the second day of his term?
