As “part of a national campaign by Democrats,” the Washington Post reports, Virginia Democrats have filed a lawsuit claiming that requiring voters to present photo id and refusing to allow felons to vote is part of “a GOP strategy to suppress the votes of minorities, young voters and the poor.” The suit is funded by billionaire George Soros and was filed by”Marc E. Elias of Perkins Coie, who is general counsel to Hillary Rodham Clinton’s campaign.”
Elias, who heads the firm-wide political law practice the the multi-office Perkins Coie, works out of the Washington, D.C., office, but to the best of my knowledge he has not filed a lawsuit charging the D.C. Public Library with racial discrimination.
