See this dramatically depressing Washington Times article about the widespread use of Obama administration stimulus funds for contracts given to minority-owned firms whose only work was … to sub-contract with other firms to do the actual work. Since this was — or clearly should have been — known, it makes the Obama stimulus look in large part like a large criminal conspiracy.

Wow. I wrote a story Monday that the Stimulus Act had set up a new pattern on federal revenue sharing to push states and localities into adopting desired policies and practices involving a Low Carbon economy and aiding urban areas plus the education reforms associated with the actual remake of K-12 education. Hiding euphemistically as the Common Core it is only about academic content if getting rid of it so all students can succeed counts.

Project 21 rolled out a vision called Inclusive Competitiveness at the SXSWedu forum in Austin a few weeks ago that suggests this passthrough template is just getting warmed up.
It already felt like a combo shakedown/sale of the right to do anything you want to taxpayers before I read that WT story. Now it feels numbing and I was getting ready to write about the implications to the Strategic Cities Initiative before I saw this post.
I feel like a need to take a shower with so much money being grabbed by the State and its cronies these days.
