What Tests Predict, And What They Don’t

I have a post on Minding The Campus this morning, What Tests Predict, And What They Don’t, about a new study that examines California high school students’ performance on a standardized test with their performance in their first year in California community  colleges. Some of the findings are boringly predictable — students with higher scores on the test got better grades and enrolled in fewer remedial classes — but some aspects of the racial and ethnic achievement gap were unexpected and hence interesting.
