“Mismatch” And Tenure

I have a “Short Take” on Minding The Campus today discussing “Mismatch” and Tenure, the possibility that institutions that award bonus points for hiring minority faculty (no matter how “holistically” disguised) should not be surprised later on if a smaller proportion of them are awarded tenure than peers and competitors for whom standards were not lowered.

Am I to understand that “social promotion” (and subsequent lateral “promotion”) has proved, once again, to be plagued with consequential folly?

Maybe this President’s own vast cabinet of “advisors” and Czars (ahem)re-reorganisation serves as a cautionary tale about social promotion to “tenure”.

Of course, failing a “position” at (ie)Columbia, University of Saudi Arabia,or other political “education” advertisers in “Foreign Affairs” publications, there’s always a place at Acorn, the smugly usurped Air America radio, or Current TV.

    Oh wait…
