Pot Calls Kettle Racist

Jamelle Bouie, a jejune young black leftist who writes for The American Prospect last seen here here and here, writes that “the power and symbolism of Obama’s election” has been “compromised” by “white racism” and that it is “absurd to believe otherwise.”

He enthusiastically recommends “a fantastic essay” by Ta-Nehisi Coates, a jejune young black leftist who writes for The Atlantic, that argues that our “strange and compromised integration” shows us to be “a country so infantile that it can countenance white acceptance of blacks only when they meet an Al Roker standard.”

I’m not sure exactly what the “Al Roker standard” is, but I doubt that either Jamelle or Ta-Nehisi meets it and yet they don’t seem to be experiencing any lack of acceptance. On the other hand (or is it the same hand?), I don’t think the surly, snarling Obama of his 2012 campaign meets it either, which leads me to hope that Ta-Nehisi may be proved  right in November.

p.s. Since I have to translate the article into Italian, do you know what an Al Roker standard might be?
