Obama’s Checks And Zero Balance

Megan McCardle quotes candidate Obama — “If I don’t have this done in three years, then there’s going to be a one-term proposition” — and observes, appropriately enough, “If Obama didn’t want to be judged on the basis of the economy’s performance, he shouldn’t have let his mouth write checks that he couldn’t cash.”

True enough, but then his entire presidency has consisted of writing checks, large and ever larger checks (not to mention the credit card charges), that would be uncashable but for the continued willingness of the Chinese to enable our diving deeper and deeper into debt and the inability of  young children and those yet unborn to reject the debt he has imposed on them.

“…the inability of young children and those yet unborn to reject the debt he has imposed on them.”

Oooo…and those nice “occupy” folk think their financial debt obligations are tough NOW. Wait till their kids get enough of “the right kind” of “free” um… education
to rationalize throwing them to da ‘gubmint curb . Who’s gonna be setting grandma adrift on an ice floe THEN? Hope they’ll be happy with 10-12 daily Chinese prescription drugs.
