My wife, Helene, was on Glenn Beck at 5:00 PM today talking about how the AARP has betrayed its members by supporting (its denial notwithstanding) Obamacare. I think the program will be repeated in many markets at some ungodly hour (2:00 AM?) and maybe again over the weekend. It’s worth recording and watching if you’re not up at those hours.

I missed how it came to be that she was the one of MANY folk, that feel misrepresented by AARP “leadership”, that was invited to speak on Mr. Beck’s show.
Easy answer: serendipity. Someone sent one of my blog posts on Obamacare to a researcher for the Glenn Beck show. She called me with questions, some of which were about AARP. Helene had been VERY active on the AARP web site organizing groups in opposition to OBcare, and generally rousing rabble. And you’re right: that site is filled to overflowing with old people opposed to OBcare, and they’re hopping mad at AARP for selling them out. Anyway, when the AARP questions came up I told the researcher to talk to Helene, not me, and one thing led to another…. I think they were thinking of a show with many AARP’ers, but then a short slot opened up and Helene was available. As I said, serendipity.
