Stigma
From today’s Daily Princetonian:
Based on conversations [the author had with] with classmates as well as discussions during the Carl A. Fields Center Leadership Retreat, minority students feel slighted in a whole host of ways. Black and Hispanic students complain that they feel as though they are dismissed as affirmative-action beneficiaries....Imagine that! Beneficiaries of affirmative (and even those who are not, or who don’t need to be, but who look like those who are) action are regarded as ... beneficiaries of affirmative action!
Say What?
The "Carl A. Fields Center" (actually the Carl A. Fields Center for Equality and Cultural Understanding) was called the Third World Center when I was at Princeton; its very existence is a tribute to separatism.
