“Diversity” Dean Done

I have criticized M. Rick Turner, the University of Virginia’s inflamatory “dean of all things black,” too many times to cite, at least 20 or so. He is the poster child, or adult, demonstrating the divisiveness of “diversity” mongering.

As I mentioned below I’m out of town, but a UVa faculty member just sent me a head’s up about this article from the Daily Progress, the local Charlottesville paper:

UVa places Turner on leave

Dean accused of lying to federal authorities

….

M. Rick Turner, dean of the University of Virginia’s Office of African-American Affairs, has been placed on administrative leave after signing an agreement in U.S. District Court stating that he had lied about his knowledge of “the activities of a known drug dealer.”

Turner entered into a pretrial diversion agreement with federal prosecutors to avoid prosecution and has agreed to 12 months of federal probation.

If he meets all the conditions of probation, he will not face prosecution “and the charges against you will be dismissed,” the agreement states.

[UVa officials]had no comment other than Turner was being placed on paid leave pending the outcome of an investigation.

It sounds more like a sabbatical than a punishment. Just what does UVA have to investigate? He already pleaded guilty to the charges.
