More BAMN Deception And Deceit

Luke Massie, of BAMN fame, has an article in the Lansing State Journal claiming that Michigan is “heading for a dishonest” election.

The most honest and accurate thing in this article is Massie’s deception about his affiliation with BAMN. He identifies himself instead as working with “Operation King’s Dream,” a front group created allow anti-MCRI campaigners to disguise their affiliation with BAMN.

Massie also claims that

Virtually every single one of Michigan’s black voters who signed the ballot petition for the ban on affirmative action was deceived into thinking that what they [sic] were signing was a petition in support of affirmative action.

The term “affirmative action” appears nowhere in the languate of MCRI. It would not ban affirmative action; it would only ban racial/gender/ethnic preferences. And I strongly suspect that the black voters who signed the MCRI petition did so because they, like all the other signers, believe that banning discrimination based on race is the essence of civil rights.

“Virtually every single one of Michigan’s black voters who signed the ballot petition for the ban on affirmative action was deceived into thinking that what they were signing was a petition in support of affirmative action. [. . .] The petition language was deliberately written to be so unclear that votes could not tell when petition circulators were lying to them.”

Massie’s failure to cite the the petition’s allegedly deceptive language is a tell-all here. If the language were in fact deceptive, it would have been prominently featured in this account.

Only one thing is sure here. Massie is convinced that Michigan voters are morons who completely lack even basic reading and thinking skills. In fact, he apparently believes that they will accept anything he says at face value, despite obvious problems with his account.

I concur with the previous “Say What?” but would also add that Massie implies that if you are Black, you have no inherent ability to read the English language and I would posit that his piece is the single most racist op-ed or position statement I have ever read. Moreover, it is an indictment of the public school system if those who leave it are unable to comprehend the explicit and straightforward language in the MCRI. This guy is the prototype liberal that believes the unwashed masses, black, white, brown, pink, etc., are dumber than dirt. That the “leaders” and every one else in the Black community don’t call Massie and his like thinking cronies to task for this style of egregious assertion tells me that they too have no moral compass
