Another BAMN Riot

I have written here a number of times By Any Means Necessary, the shock troops leading the charge, often violently, against the Michigan Civil Rights Initiative. (There are many such posts; two are this one and this one.)

Now, Chetly Zarko reports, they’ve done again, this time instigating high school violence over dress codes.

I don’t get this: What does this nonsense have to do with BAMN’s stated mission? Is BAMN merely turning into some sort of anarchist group?

    Federal Dog,

This has everything to do with BAMN’s UNSTATED MISSION.

BAMN’s mission is (no kidding here) a “Trotskeyist Revolution”. “Defending affirmative action” is just a “transition issue” to them.

BAMN is an offshoot of the Revolutionary Workers League, which in the 70s split from the Spartacist League (I believe it was a league).

    All of this is documentable.

Love that BAMN! Here in the Bay Area, a large number of Oakland teachers are BAMN members, along with being among the most insanely radical union “activists”. A couple of years ago, a teacher in Oakland took her students out of school during the day so they could attend a BAMN rally on the UC Berkeley campus. After the rally, the “students” went on a rampage on Telegraph Ave, assaulting students and others, looting stores, and generally turning into a mob. When the local media criticized this, the teacher dismissed them as “classist”. Oh yes, these are the true believers.

Thanks, Chetly, for the explanation. The Sparticist League? The very fact that I remember it (and was solicited for membership in it) means that I am getting very, very old. Speaking of Berkeley, Scott, that’s where I recall the Sparticists from. Those were some damned stupid years, for sure. I guess some people never grow up.
