Michigan Court Slams BAMN

Chetly Zarko, an official (Treasurer?) with the Michigan Civil Rights Initiative, points out on his personal blog that the Michigan Court of Appeals is, finally, fed up with the delaying tactics of groups like BAMN that are trying to prevent the people of Michigan from voting on a state constitutional amendment that would ban racial preferences.

The Court of Appeals denied a motion for reconsideration (not even an appeal) filed by BAMN and a new group, In The Hood Research, and ordered the Board of Canvassers to “approve and certify the petitions, forthwith,” stating emphatically that the court’s “opinion and order, and this order, simply reaffirms the people’s Constitutional right to vote.”

Moreover, the court also ordered, “on its own initiative,” that the three individuals associated with In the Hood Research “be sanctioned in the amount of $500 each as damages for filing a motion grossly lacking in requirments of propriety.”

I wonder why BAMN et. al., and the Democratic Party of Michigan that has been supporting them, who claim to speak for “the people” are so fearful of allowing the people to vote on racial preferences.

Say What?
