Blowin In The Wind…

By now we’ve all seen, or at least read about, the new Bush ad that shows a windsurfing Kerry tacking to and fro as the text summarizes his flip-flops on various issues. (Seemingly forgotten in all the huffing and puffing over this ad is that it was Jay Leno, a while ago, who noted that Kerry couldn’t even take a break and enjoy himself without seeing which way the wind is blowing.)

Anyway, the Kerry camp, with its recent discovery of Iraq, has suddenly turned primily and grimly sanctimonious. Quickly replying to the windsurfing ad,

The Kerry camp quickly returned fire, with spokesman Mike McCurry urging Bush to repudiate “a shameful advertisement that shows a disturbing disregard for those fighting and sacrificing in Iraq.” McCurry told reporters that “people do not want to see lighthearted advertising when families are very heavy-hearted about what’s happening to their loved ones.”

Excuse me, but if fun is now outlawed why did Kerry go windsurfing in the first place, and why did he invite camera crews along so that everyone could benefit from watching him ride the wind?

Oh, as opposed to the Kerry/Democrat ad showing a US soldier in Iraq slowly sinking into the ground. Yeah, talk about class…
