Kerry Panders Pledges To Minority Journalists

Speaking to the convention of minority journalists discussed here, Kerry pledged, among other things, to “open the doors of the White House to Native Americans.”

I myself am all in favor of such an open door policy, and in fact I tried to tell that mean right-wing-Republican-attack-machine that it was a big mistake to put that sign on all the White House doors with the circle around and diagonal line through a picture of the Washington Redskins logo with text underneath proclaiming “No Native Americans allowed inside.”

In addition, in what the Post article terms “an unusual pledge” (presumably pledging to allow Native Americans inside the White House is usual), Kerry “said he would prod the nation’s news executives to increase the number of jobs for Native Americans in the media.”

This proposed prod really is interesting. I wonder how many jobs the nation’s news executives have currently set aside for Native Americans? Kerry must know, if thinks the current number insufficient. I also wonder if Kerry has made a secret pledge, to go with his public prod, that as president he would make sure that his Justice Dept. would find no problem with jobs being restricted to members of one race or ethnic group.

Maybe he can be confident about that because of the judges he has in mind to nominate.

    What’s A “First Amendent?”

Congress shall make no law…abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press…

Or something like that. John Kerry, if elected panderer…I mean president…promises his socialist constituents that he’ll pick a Federal Communications Commission …
