Grumbles About Lack Of “Diversity” In Kerry Campaign

Terry Neal has a long article in the Washington Post today about increasing complaints of a lack of “diversity” in Kerry’s campaign.

Although the article mentions that there are “no Asian Americans” among the ten honchos and honchettes who are said to set policy every day in a 7:30AM phone call, none of the talk seems to concern the absence of Asians. Or of Greeks, Turks, Armenians, Muslims, Scandinavians, Poles, Russians, farmers, firefighters, etc., etc. who also are unrepresented.

I suspect that ‘s because when people talk about “diversity,” they don’t mean, you know, diversity.

It almost suprises me to hear that the D Party doesn’t have a rigid (quota) affirmative action plan in place for its candidate’s campiagns.
