Something In The Oven At William & Mary

Following, as usual, Erin O’Connor, I recently wrote about the unhinged response of Timothy Sullivan, the president of William & Mary, to an affirmative action bake sale on his campus.

Stay, as they say, tuned. Someone identifying him- or herself as “a conservative W&M student” has just added the following comment to my earlier post:

Keep your eye on the situation at W&M. I didn’t participate in the first sale, but I can guarantee there will be a second one before the end of January. If you thought Sullivan was mad in that letter, imagine him after this one.

My imagination is not that good. I’ll have to watch.

This is off-topic for this post, but last year when the Detroit Lions hired Steve Mariucci as head coach without interviewing minority candidates for the position, the NFL fined the team $250K. This week, Washington hired Joe Gibbs, and as a surprise hire coming so soon after the season ended, I assume they didn’t interview anyone else (usually the hiring process is a drawn-out process). So when will the NFL announce its fine?

Ignore the previous question- apparently they interviewed Ray Rhodes and Dennis Green! My bad!

Ah, yes, the token interviews. And the right is considered racist.
