I’ve just received a very nice email from Milt Rosenberg, the Univ. of Chicago psychology professor who hosts a well known and highly regarded interview/talk program on WGN radio in Chicago. Take a look at his impressive roster of guests and glowing comments.
Prof. Rosenberg has recently launched a new blog, Milt’s File, which is wide-ranging, informative, and very much worth your time to visit. I’m adding it to my blogroll.
For the record: Milt Rosenberg and I are not related. Or if we are, neither of us knows it.
UPDATE – I had a typo in the link to Milt Rosenberg’s blog, now corrected thanks to the alert sent me by a kind reader.
John/Jessie:
Thank you for the reminder about the wonderful Dr. Milt Rosenberg and his decades-long talk-show artistry on WGN Radio in Chicago.
You reminded me of the thank you I’ve meant to proffer him for years.
JUST SENT THIS TO “Uncle Milt” this hour —
. . . . . . . . . . . .
Subj: *** Dr. Rosenberg: THANK YOU FOREVER ***
Milt:
I moved from Evanston to the state of Maryland in August of 1984 as a (30 year-old) nightly listener to Extension 720 in those great days.
I cannot describe the tremendous intellectual stimulation and joy you provided me as a listener each night. —
I was an elementary school teacher in the Glencoe Public Schools at that time and I was regularly captivated by the radio discussion on Extension 720 when I should have been at work correcting papers and getting affairs in order for the next day of class.
Indeed, one of * THE * absolute most difficult things about leaving Chicago in 1984 was leaving your show behind as I headed east.
Your radio work has always EXCELLED because of this special mix:
– quality of your GUESTS
– quality of your TOPICS
– quality of your PACING on air – and who cares if you like to hear yourself talk, because I like to hear yourself talk, too!)
– pure listenability of your VOICE
I’ve always wanted to thank you personally for the listening/learning enjoyments you provided so graciously, and so I’m doing this now.
Bravo, Uncle Milt !
— AND THANK YOU FOREVER —
Bill Turgeon
