WaPo Hostility To Color-Blindness

If Daryl Fears’ front page article (in theory, that is, a news article) in today’s Washington Post on Ward Connerly’s campaign for color-blindness in California is any indication, the establishment press will be continuing its outspoken support for diversity.

Although Fears quotes a few supporters of the initiative, which would ban the collection of racial data, the article mainly serves as a megaphone for the views of opponents. For example, Fears writes in a typical passage, “[i]f passed, the initiative would ban public agencies from collecting racial data even after a hire, which could hurt attempts to diversify the workplace.”

That’s not an unreasonable comment … for a partisan in the debate. But for a reporter in his front page news article?

Say What?
