Northrup’s comments were inspired by his looking at Randall Kennedy’s new book, INTERRACIAL INTIMACIES, which is also worth your attention. If you do look at it and you get any clues to solving the riddle of what, in an earlier post, I called “The Inscrutable Randall Kennedy,” please let me know.
An insignificant co-incidence: the plane that brought us back from San Francisco last week showed the Steve Martin / Queen Latifa movie, “Bringing Down the House,” which touched on the some of the same themes Northrup discusses. (Review here.)
