Hitting The Road, Not The Books

Reader Mark Garbowski alerted me to an article in today’s New York Post whose first sentence, which follows, tells the story:

The City University of New York Law School, where half the students flunked the bar exam last year, is helping finance a trip to Washington, D.C., for students to defend affirmation action.

It is not clear from the article whether CUNY is financing this trip so that law students can attend the argument of the Michigan affirmative cases at the Supreme Court — where I’m sure there will be a much greater demand for seats than can be accomodated — or to attend demonstrations defending affirmative action.

“CUNY Law School is on the precipice of being shut down. One of the problems with the law school is there is too much focus on demonstrations and not enough focus on academics,” said former Deputy Mayor Tony Coles.

“This is a time when CUNY law students should hit the books, not the road.”

“The City University of New York Law School, where half the students flunked the bar exam last year, is helping finance a trip to Washington, D.C., for students to defend affirmation action.”

This is a perfect example of adding two and two and coming up with 14.753.
