Quote Of The Day + Analysis Of The Day

Both the Quote and the Analysis of the Day come from an article in today’s University of Wisconsin Badger Herald.

Quote of the Day:

“With the exception of the lowest income quintile, UW institutions are doing a remarkable job of serving students from across the income spectrum,” [University of Wisconsin System President Katharine] Lyall said. “It also tells us we need to know more about the lowest quintile.”

Analysis of the Day:

The report also revealed those students in the lowest income brackets rely primarily on need-based grants while those in the upper income brackets rely primarily on non-need based brackets.

Wasn’t Wisconsin the original model for regarding states as the “laboratories of democracy”? If so, I’m not sure this experiment is working.

Say What?
