Princeton: Diversity = Comfort In The Classroom?

The Daily Princetonian reports a Committee for the Improvement of African-American Life at Princeton, which grew out of a meeting sponsored by the Black Student Union, is issuing a report that “will propose hiring more diverse faculty to make minority students more comfortable in the classroom.”

Note the equation, again, of “diversity” with race/ethnicity and the interesting justification of “comfort in the classroom.” But then it wasn’t faculties, was it, whose mission was to comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable?
