Parity or Parody?

In what could have been taken for a parody of a spinmeister at work, Democratic bag man Terry McAuliffe asserted yesterday that the election results had left the two parties “basically [in] the same place we were after the 2000 election. At 50-50. Parity. Not much has changed.”

Seems that he has trouble counting anything besides money, like votes. Steve Sailer of UPI reports that when all the votes for governor, Senate, and House across the country are added together, Republicans won 53% to the Democrats’ 47%. (Link via Andrew Sullivan)
