From a long article in the Washington Post Style section on the Mary Landrieu – Suzanne Terrell Senate runoff in Louisiana:
No national Democratic figures are expected to be in Louisiana to campaign for Mary Landrieu. No Al Gore. No Tom Daschle. There are plans for phone calls using a recorded pitch from Bill Clinton in targeted areas.
Funny, the article doesn’t say what the targeted areas are. So sloppy for the Post to inadvertently omit this bit of information. An oversight, perhaps. I’m sure that if a major political party was targeting its campaign efforts on a racial or ethnic basis, for example, the Post would surely mention this and condemn it as being divisive.
